Erik Pinlac VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE Contact Information, Statement: I am Erik Pinlac and I am your elected Vice President of Finance for the 2012-13 school year. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Public Administration. My background also includes a bachelor degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics and Finance from this fine University, Cal State East Bay. My family came from the Philippines to reside in a city in Southern California known as San Bernardino. I am very family oriented and hope to bring this same mentality to this years board. I have seen the struggles that life brings and want to alleviate as much of this for students through offering a multitude of options in student organizations that can change their college experience for the better. |

John H. Erlandson VICE PRESIDENT, INTERNAL AFFAIRS Contact Information, Statement: Hello Pioneers and Staff my name is John Erlandson. I am a senior studying Industrial Engineering. CSU East Bay has been more than a home to me for the past four years, and can say that I am proud of the many positive changes Ive seen here at CSUEB, such as the building of the RAW to promote student health and expanding Student Housing to improve the quality of campus life. For four years, I ran cross country and track for CSUEB and was an active member of Delta Sigma Phi. Before my time is up at CSUEB I would like to give back to the school by being vice president of Internal Affairs. I will focus on maintaining a strong connection between ASI administrators, the board of ASI, informing organizations of important upcoming events and working on expanding important services to students. My goal is to fulfill the duties that I have been elected to as Vice President of Internal Affairs while always keeping in mind that I am working for the students. |

Stephanie Pinkston DIRECTOR, CONCORD CAMPUS Contact Information, Statement: Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am a senior majoring in Health Science with an option in Administration and Management and a minor in Business Administration. I have a three year old son and raise him as a single mother. Now that he is getting older he is becoming interested in going to school just like his mom which is something that I am very proud to hear. Even though I have gone through my share of struggles I know that the best thing for me was to continue with my education. I started at the Concord Campus as a freshman in the first pre-nursing cluster offered in 2008. In 2009 I began working as a student assistant in Academic Services and in the Computer Lab. From there I became even more involved with the Concord Campus by becoming a mentor in the Big/Little program for incoming pre-nursing students. I became a Concord Campus Ambassador while continuing my work as a student assistant. I am in the process of creating two new clubs to facilitate students becoming more involved with the campus life at the Concord Campus. One of my main goals as ASI Director of the Concord Campus is to bring a sense community to the campus as well as bring more services to the students. |

Laurel O'Brien DIRECTOR, ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS Contact Information, Statement:
Hello Pioneers Im thrilled for the opportunity to serve you as Director of Environmental Affairs for the 2012-13 school year. As an Environmental Studies major, Im learning so much in my classes about environmental problems on a global scale. I feel absolutely impelled to do whatever I can on a local scale, and where better to start than right here on the CSUEB campus? I see limitless potential for what we can achieve in the area of sustainability, but well need all hands on deck. Thats why one of my main priorities will be supporting the creation of a Sustainability Club to help raise the profile of and engage students on important environmental issues. Its far too easy to be the stereotypical commuter student at this university, so I want to start organizing efforts that will stop students in their tracks and get them thinking about how sustainability is really at the core of everything we do, no matter where ones interests lie. |

Derek Volk DIRECTOR, RECREATION AND WELLNESS Contact Information, Statement: My name is Derek Volk and I am your ASI Director of Recreation and Wellness. As your representative to Associated Students Inc., I will work hard to ensure that the diverse voices of all our students are heard by the campus administrators and decision makers at Cal State East Bay. As an ASI Board of Directors, College of Education and Allied Studies last year I have learned that students can make a difference, as evidenced by putting on a Meet the Dean Event and Suicide Prevention Event. Ive also gained valuable experience being an ASI Recreation and Wellness Committee member two years ago. Being able to put on events for the students is a good start, but I want to continue the recent progress we have seen at Cal State East Bay and further improve the services we offer our students. Some additional improvements I would like to see for our Recreation and Wellness students include improving intramural leagues, student experience, and help students improve their overall health. These are achievable goals that require our voices to be heard. I will bring a strong work ethic, open mind, and a positive attitude to Associated Students Inc Board of Directors. |

Erik Olivar DIRECTOR, COLLEGE OF SCIENCE Contact Information, Statement: Hello! Im Erik Olivar, and Im an Industrial Engineering major currently in my fourth year. During my time here at CSUEB, I have been involved with the engineering clubs, including Institute of Industrial Engineers and Engineers for People, Planet, and Prosperity, and have served as a student committee member of the A2E2/IRE Committee for the College of Science. My involvement on campus so far has motivated me to take on the role as Director of College of Science. For the following year, I along with the ASI Board of Directors will work to make certain that the concerns of the students are heard. Specifically to the College of Science, I plan to advocate for study sessions to ensure students receive the help they need; inform students of job and internship opportunities within their field of study; and assist student organizations with planning and promoting events. In addition, with help from the college directors of CLASS, CBE, and CEAS, I hope to build collaboration between the four colleges. Creating a better college experience is of utmost importance, and I am very excited for what this year brings. |
